Karina Smirnoff is a Ukrainian professional ballroom dancer. She has won several professional ballroom titles, including 5 US National titles.
She joined Dancing with the Stars in season 3, partnering actor and TV host Mario Lopez, they finished in 2nd place behind Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke.
In season 13 she finally won the mirror ball trophy partnering J.R. Martinez. This was also her first appearance in the Dancing with the Stars finals since season 3.
In addition to her first and second place finishes, she has reached the quarterfinals three times, in season 4 with Billy Ray Cyrus, in season 6 with Mario and in season 9 with Aaron Carter; as well as the semi-finals twice, once in season 12 with Ralph Macchio and in season 15 with Apolo Anton Ohno.
